The Lotos Club takes pride in setting high standards in all its endeavors, and proper dress is intended to be an expression of those standards. Recently, the Club adopted a new dress code to make the Club more accessible for members and their guests. Our goal, as always, is to make everyone’s visit as enjoyable as possible.
After 5:00 p.m.
Dress Attire1, 3 throughout the clubhouse except as provided in (b)-(d) below.
In the Grill Room, jackets are required but ties are optional and a long sleeve turtleneck shirt may be substituted for a collared, long sleeve shirt. Members may greet their dinner guests in the Members’ Lounge before proceeding to the Grill Room.
The Club will be flexible as to the permissible attire for a Club Event honoree or speaker in order to take into account dress associated with the individual’s profession.
With respect to Private Dining events and Special Events, the House Committee is authorized to grant exceptions deemed appropriate under the circumstances.

Summer.
This Dress Code is subject to such exceptions during the summer months as are approved by the House Committee in consultation with the Directory.
Dress Attire means (i) for men, jacket, tie and slacks and (ii) for women, appropriately similar attire. A selection of men’s jackets and ties is available at the Reception Desk for loan. Black Tie for men and appropriately similar attire for women is required at events designated as Black Tie.
2 For men, a collared, long sleeve shirt or turtleneck and slacks and, for women, appropriately similar attire, are required.
3 Jeans, sneakers, running shoes and other athletic attire are prohibited except for persons coming into the clubhouse and going directly into their bedrooms and vice versa.
Staff at the Reception Desk is under specific instructions not to admit members or guests wearing non-complying clothing. A selection of men’s neckties and jackets is available at the Reception Desk for loan. Noncompliance by members and guests will be referred to the House Committee.
